Description

The beauty of sun shining through colored glass has held fascination for many centuries. Stained glass and soap bubbles, glass tiles and water filled spheres...always pretty especially with multi colors. Set your own Science experiment with this GALILEO thermometer** using a water filled cylinder and colored liquids. The bright vivid colors with light streaming through attracted me to capture this as a semi abstract and study in light. Behind the bubbles is a Double exposure layer which includes a silver eagle lamp post and closeup thermometer reflections (best seen in full view).
** The GALILEO thermometer consists of a vertical glass tube, typically filled with water, and sealed glass bubbles containing coloured water or alcohol. Each bubble is also attached to a specific mass (labelled with the temperature it represents) to calibrate its density (the amount of mass in a given volume).
