Description

A giant hibiscus showing off "an antennae and satellite dish" after a rain. Exhuberant yellow frills dress the edges. The sun had come out to highlight a large stamen creating a late afternoon shadow.
As a minimalist design, this flower will do well in contemporary as well as traditional decor. A black backdrop was added to the original to maintain central focus and dilute other leaves from the picture. Artography overall result in more pop to the original capture.
Generally a warm weather bloomer in southern U.S. it's possible to grow as a perennial in warm climates. The part of the flower showing in the most in the center in this shot is called a pistil, part of the blooms reproductive parts.
Hibiscus have been traditionally used in Hawaii for hair adornment and lei making.
