Description

This end of the day shot displayed an imperial collection of warm pinks with gold, and cool purples and blues. I took a slanted perspective for the piece to display the silhouetted backdrop as well as the dip in the bank where the bluebonnets were growing. Enhanced contrast, painterly texture, and mother nature on her own! 'Where the bluebonnets grow, near Ennis Texas' -should be a song lyric!

A rainbow sherbet sky at sunset near Ennis Texas over a bank of bluebonnets. Spring wildflowers have always been one of my favorite subjects to capture. This one caught the sun just right. Beginning with a painterly effect, I enhanced contrast so that the layers of the sky showed up best.
Bluebonnets are a member of the Lupine family and are all primarily blue colored in Texas, though there are several other colors existing in cooler climates. 
They are the state flower for Texas and are most often depicted in royal blue, the predominant hue of the state.
