I posed as a baby boomer model in this photoshoot, using mardi gras beads and mask, draped in an aqua boa and wearing a black lace dress. The glamour series was the beginning part of my Project featuring women born in the Fifties as proud representatives. I matched the lipstick to the magenta beads post production. Original photographer Charles Duncan has given me permission to retouch and edit my own image as part of our agreement in photographing the shoot. Mardi Gras, French for FAT TUESDAY, is a Catholic originated celebration marking the beginning of the season of Lent. It reflects the practice of the last night of eating richer, fatty foods before the ritual FASTING of the Lenten season. Related popular practices are associated with celebrations before the fasting and religious obligations associated with the penitential season of Lent.
